For most of my life, I have been intrigued with history and the weapons that went hand and hand with the events of the world. I have a strong desire to preserve and restore firearms that have been passed down through families. I sincerely believe that firearms of all kinds have a story to tell that will assist in preserving our history for generations to come.
Humidity is a gun’s worst enemy. If you have an evaporative cooler in your home, frequent cleaning is a must!! Cleaning a weapon is the lifeblood of a gun that will lead to several generations of enjoyment, survival, and perhaps meat on the table. Gun cleaning should be performed at least once a month, even if the weapon has not been recently fired. Regular cleaning allows location of corrosion and detection of wear and tear. The gun should be taken apart to an individual’s level of comfort. Gun owners should take weapons to their local gunsmith on a regular basis for further disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and polishing.
Bob worked on two pistols and repaired them in a timely manner. One of the pistols was constantly jamming due to issues with chambering rounds. Bob repaired the issue and now the pistol works as deisigned for the first time. I will continue to use Crossed Sabres for all my firearms work.
My wife and I had our elk rifles serviced by Bob Wooster, gunsmith and owner for Crossed Sabres Gunsmithing. My wife’s gun was less than a year old, and mine is over 40 years old. After Bob finished inspecting, cleaning, and oiling our guns, both looked brand new. I was especially impressed with Bob’s attention to detail. He brought to my attention an area on my gun where blood had spilled on steel. He said he spent extra time on that area, and advised me to regularly keep it cleaned and oiled. Bob’s work was superb, the price was excellent, and we had our guns back in a short time frame (which is unusual these days).Crossed Sabres Gunsmithing is where we will take our guns from now on. I highly recommend others do the same.
I had a family heirloom shotgun repaired by Bob Wooster at Crossed Sabres Gunsmithing. Despite the firearm being an obscure manufacturer and dating from the 1930's, Bob was able to research the parts needed and repaired the shotgun at a reasonable price. Based on this experience, I will certainly to take any of my guns to him for repair.
Bob Wooster, Crossed Sabres Gunsmith, serviced several old weapons that I inherited from my grandfathers. These weapons were well used, were not functioning properly, and had not been cleaned for some time. Following inspection, Bob identified a few problems that I was unaware of and repaired them. All of the weapons now function perfectly and are squeaky clean. Bob provided very professional service for a fair price and in a timely manner. It was obvious great care was taken with all of my weapons. I recommend Crossed Sabres to all my friends.
